Daemon Prince

This is a 3D printed daemon prince, in which I was tasked with recreating the skin of an already existing army. Unfortunately, the paint with which this army was painted had an altered formula, so I had to combine in a different way.

In the gallery is a photo with a comparison of the model I painted and the one I had to reproduce.

Skin

Unfortunately, there is no simple recipe here.

First I did zenithal highlight, a base black color, all over the skin, and then starting at about 45 degrees I applied lighter and lighter gray in thin layers and then I sprayed white lightly from the very top.

I then covered the whole thing with GW Iyanden Yellow with a brush, followed by VGC Umber wash, which can be used interchangeably with GW Aggrax Earthshade.

Once the whole thing was dry I lightly drybrushed VMC Ice Yellow, then again airbrushed VGC Orange Fire diluted to the filter to tint the model to the correct color.

At the very end, I brushed the whole model once more with VMC Ice Yellow and that would be all.

Wounds

Next, it was straightforward. I covered the wounds with AK Wine Red and highlighted them with AP Deep Red, then added stains and streaks using GW Blood for the Blood God.

Armor

The armor was done 90% with an airbrush.

The base is GW Death Guard Green, which I then lightened with white.

I made the shadows by applying VGC Umber wash with an airbrush, it required several thin coats, but gave a great effect.

I did the streaks also with VGC Umber wash, but I used AK Streaking Grime too for a couple of them.

Metal

The metal is VGC Chainmail or, interchangeably, GW Leadbelcher covered with VGC Umber washe, then drybrushed once more with the base color.

Rust and dirt effects are a mix of AK Streaking Grime, GW Typhus Corrosion and Vallejo pigment Burnt Sienna.

Blood splatter

The blood splatter effect was achieved by spraying an airbrush into a brush dipped in GW Blood for the Blood God
